Summer EBT: Food Benefits for the Summer

Summer EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) is a new program that helps families buy food for their children during the summer. Families will get $120 in benefits for each eligible child to use to buy food at places like grocery stores, farmers markets – anywhere that FoodShare benefits are accepted.  Most eligible families will get these benefits in June 2024.

 

Children who get Summer EBT can still participate in other summer meal programs. Receiving Summer EBT will not affect children or families' immigration status.  More information about Wisconsin's Summer EBT program will be coming soon.

SUMMER FOOD SERVICE

The school district of West De Pere is excited to announce that they will be offering FREE summer breakfast & lunches to all children and teens ages 18 and under.  Breakfast will be served at Westwood Elementary between 8am and 9am and Lunch will be available at Nicolet Townhomes, Kelly Danen, and Westwood. (enter door #1) Monday-Friday.  All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria or on site.  This program will run June 10-August 9, (no meals during the week of 4th of July).

 

The Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to low-income children during school vacations. More than 26 million children eat school lunch every day when school is in session, and about half of them receive their meals free or at a reduced price due to low household income. The summer program offers those children nutritious food when school is not in session.  Follow the links below to access a map that shows where meals are served.

2023-2024 Household Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals

The 2023-2024 Free and Reduced Lunch Application Form is located below along with directions on How to Apply for Free and Reduced Priced Meals and Frequently Asked Questions about Free and Reduced Price School Meals to assist you.  Contact Nancy Kohls at 920-336-5754 if you need any further assistance.  Application forms may be returned to the school office for processing.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
